Used Pellet Stoves
Are you thinking about getting a pellet stove but not sure if you want to spend the money for a brand new stove? What about buying a slightly used pellet stove and saving yourself half of the cost of a new one? You can save enough money buying a used pellet stove to pay for a years worth of pellets. You will not be spending any more time or effort in buying a used pellet stove over a new one. Matter of fact, your choices may even be easier because you will have fewer models to choose from. Just because you will have fewer choices, does not mean that you will be getting less quality. I can probably be safe in saying that when the current owner purchased that stove, it was the best one available at the time. If you are new to the searching process, here are a few tips to help you in your decision process. If your search for a pellet stove has just begun, new or used, the following buying guide will provide the information you need to make an informed decision. Typically, you need a building permit to install a wood or pellet stove. As you pick up your application, let them know the type of stove you will be installing and what the codes are and if there is any documentation needed. This is really important if you own a modular or mobile home. Next, decide on the type of fuel you want, whether it be wood pellets or corn. If you live in the corn belt, then your choice is obvious. Wood pellets are pretty common in most home improvement stores as more and more owners are buying new and used pellet stoves. To save big, you don't need to go big, in used pellet stoves that is. You can find used wood and corn pellet stoves that can produce 35,000 to 45,000 Btu's, which is enough to keep a 1,200 square foot home warm or the main areas of a 2 story home. If you find a better deal on a larger stove, then go for it. The larger models ranging in 50,000 to 60,000 Btu's, come with 5 heat settings which range to a low 8,000 Btu's on the warmer days, and you can max it out on those really cold days and nights. Good luck in your search for some great used pellet stoves.
